Thomas Rhett just kicked off his Very Hot Summer Tour up in Canada, and he’ll be bringing it the U.S. starting May 17th. This tour is a big transition for Thomas because he says, “This summer, this is gonna be my first year literally headlining the whole year.”
In previous years, Thomas would headline his own tour but then go open for someone else, like he did with Kenny Chesney last year, and he says, “This year on the Very Hot Summer Tour will be the first time that we’re doin’ a whole year of headlining, half arenas and then half amphitheaters. This will be the first time I’ve ever done amphitheaters as a headliner, which is super exciting. I’ve always wanted to do this in the summer.”
The other exciting part about the Very Hot Summer Tour for Thomas are the openers who will be joining him for his U.S. dates, including Dustin Lynch, Russell Dickerson and his dad, Rhett Akins. Thomas says, “Gettin’ to bring my dad out to open the show is going to be incredible. Russell Dickerson is one of my best friends in the world, and Dustin Lynch is just on fire – just a great group of people who I think we’re going to have an excellent time on the road and really just get people ready for summertime.”
Thomas will be incorporating some new music into his set list this summer off his brand new Center Point Road album, which will be released on May 31st, featuring his latest single, “Look What God Gave Her.”
