Thomas Rhett is currently in the studio working on his third album, and he recently told Sonday TODAY’s Willie Geist that the sound “will be weird, just the way I like it.” Thomas’ albums are influenced by all kinds of music he loves, and he says, “I feel like I find something new that I love every day, especially when I’m running or even pre-show listening to music, I always find different styles of music that I love, different artists that I love.”
As he discovers those new sounds, and as he continues to grow and evolve as an artist, Thomas says, “For me every record creative process is more than likely going to be different. I don’t really see myself continuing to make seven albums that all sound the same. I hope that every one is different and unique in its own way. So I can definitely see me continuing the trend of exploring different ways to increase my brand and put my own stamp on what I do.”
Thomas’ latest single, “Star of the Show,” just moved into the top five and is continuing to climb toward #1 while he spends the month of January in the studio working on his next album.
