(AUDIO) Thomas Rhett Is Ready To Grow As A Middle Slot Act On Tour

Brantley Gilbert’s Let It Ride Tour will kick off this Thursday, March 27th, and Thomas Rhett is excited because it will be the first time he gets to play the middle slot on a major tour. Thomas says, “It’ll be the first time that I’ll be able to hire a guy that plays piano and another electric guitar player and another crew member and some lights and a lighting guy and another crew guy, and that’s just really cool. We’ve been running lean and mean for two years, like no trailer, seven dudes in the band and we do everything and we’ve done that on these big tours with Jason (Aldean), too, and it’ll be just kind of a weird, cool thing to grow and expand and try to learn how to really put on a 45 minute middle slot show and learn that means and the responsibility behind being a middle act.”

That much time will give Thomas a chance to not only play his hits like “Get Me Some of That” and “It Goes Like This,” but he’ll have time to maybe try out a couple of new songs off his debut album as well.

Thomas Rhett – 2014 Brantley Gilbert Tour
“We’re doing our first middle slot with Brantley Gilbert. I think it’s like 30 dates or something like that, but it’ll be the first time that I’ll be able to hire a guy that plays piano and another electric guitar player and another crew member and some lights and a lighting guy and another crew guy, and that’s just really cool. We’ve been running lean and mean for two years, like no trailer, seven dudes in the band and we do everything and we’ve done that on these big tours with Jason, too, and it’ll be just kind of a weird, cool thing to grow and expand and try to learn how to really put on a 45 minute middle slot show and learn that means and the responsibility behind being a middle act.
