Thomas Rhett is nominated for Song and Male Vocalist of the Year at Sunday night’s ACM Awards, and he is humbled and blown away by both nominations. “To be nominated for Song of the Year, first of all, it’s just been nuts over the last year to have been nominated for either Single or Song in pretty much every awards show for ‘Die A Happy Man,’ says Thomas. “And so to get nominated at the ACM for that is a very, very incredible feat because there are so many songs that have been released this year that are so good. So just to be in that category is amazing.”
The nomination that Thomas didn’t expect was Male Vocalist, and he doesn’t expect to win it either, but he’s thrilled to be among the nominees. He says, “You know just being in that category, I mean everybody knows that Stapleton is forever the Male Vocalist of the Year. And so just to be in that category with a voice like that is mind blowing. So you know that was a HUGE … took me by surprise but very, very honored to be in that category.”
Thomas just announced he’ll be releasing his brand new single, a duet with Maren Morris called “Craving You,” this Friday, and then he will be performing Sunday night on the ACM Awards, live from Las Vegas on CBS.
