Thomas Rhett is opening for Jason Aldean this summer on the Set This Circus Down Tour, and he says his latest single, “Vacation,” is going over great live, but it was actually a fan favorite before he released it, which is why he released it. “We had been playing it since January of this year and the record came out in September and so honestly, I was a little bit nervous to put it in the show, just curious how it would have gone over live. Since the beginning, even watching kids’ faces that don’t even know the words, they’re just rocking to it.” Thomas says, “I think there’s something about the melody that just makes you feel good. And so, never have I had a three-month summer window to put out, for me, the most perfect summer jam. So, that’s where we’re at right now. Still, to this day, it’s one of my favorite songs to play live, so we’re just rockin’ it through the summer.”
Thomas will be on the road with Jason through October 1st, and in November he’ll head overseas for a seven-city European tour.

Thomas Rhett – Vacation live :36
“The fact that it went over so well live was the reason that I wanted to put it out as a single in the first place. ‘Cause we had been playing it since January of this year and the record came out in September and so honestly, I was a little bit nervous to put it in the show, just curious how it would have gone over live. Since the beginning, even watching kids’ faces that don’t even know the words, they’re just rocking to it. I think there’s something about the melody that just makes you feel good. And so, never have I had a three-month summer window to put out, for me, the most perfect summer jam. So, that’s where we’re at right now. Still, to this day, it’s one of my favorite songs to play live, so we’re just rockin’ it through the summer, and hopefully helping people pretend like they’re on vacation.”
