Thomas Rhett’s latest #1 single, “Unforgettable,” is about a guy who remembers the little details about the night he fell in love with a girl, and while the song isn’t about his own relationship, specifically, since he and Lauren have known each other since they were kids, Thomas says he can remember some of the little things about their dating life before they were married, despite the fact that he has a terrible short-term memory. “If you know me well, you know that things slip my mind very easily,” he confesses. “Like, sometimes I’ll get up off the couch to grab a glass of water and Lauren will say, ‘Can you bring me a spoon?’ and I’ll come back with the water but no spoon.”
Even though he’s not good at remembering little day-to-day details, Thomas says, “I remember a bunch of random details, like there were random, nothing night dates that we used to have in Knoxville when she was still in college that I can vividly remember – going to get sushi downtown, going to a movie, I can remember her getting two boxes of Milk Duds instead of one – certain weird things that don’t make a whole lot of sense in why you remember them. But I think women really appreciate when you can remember the small details as well as the big ones.”
Thomas and Lauren celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary about a month ago, on October 12th, and luckily he didn’t forget that.
Thomas Rhett – Unforgettable things about Lauren :34
“If you know me well, you know things slip my mind very easily. Like, sometimes I’ll get up off the couch to grab a glass of water and Lauren will say, ‘Can you bring me a spoon?’ and I’ll come back with the water but no spoon. So my brain works in that way, but at the same time I remember a bunch of random details, like there were random, nothing night dates that we used to have in Knoxville when she was still in college that I can vividly remember – going to get sushi downtown, going to a movie, I can remember her getting two boxes of Milk Duds instead of one – certain weird things that don’t make a whole lot of sense in why you remember them. But I think women really appreciate when you can remember the small details as well as the big ones.”
