CURRENT SINGLE: “Angels Don’t Always Have Wings”`
Thomas Rhett wrote and recorded his Country Again: Side A album during the first year of the pandemic, releasing it in April 2021. He had every intention of following it up with Country Again: Side B, but then Covid restrictions started to lift, the world started to open back up again, and Thomas was so excited about getting back out on the road and performing live that he began writing songs with more energy and tempo that would be perfect for his live show. Those songs led to him putting Country Again: Side B on hold and releasing his latest album, Where We Started, but Thomas still hasn’t given up on releasing Side B one day.
Thomas Rhett – hope finish Side B :26
“‘Anything Cold’ was written for live. ‘Bring the Bar to You’ was written for live. ‘Half of Me’ was written for live. ‘Paradise’ was written for a live show. ‘Somebody Like Me’ was written for live. I would say half was written for the live show, and I would say the ones that are a little more Side A-ish were probably supposed to be a part of Side B. And so, I hope we get to get on the road this year and really finish out Side B the way that I want it to sound, and hopefully put that record out.”
Thomas’ current single, “Angels,” probably would have made a good Side B song, but instead, it ended up on his Where We Started album. But Thomas will launch his Home Team Tour on May 4th, and he’ll definitely have songwriters out on the road to write with him, so he may write the new songs he needs for Country Again: Side B, or he could end up being inspired to create an entirely different record. Stay tuned.
