DEBUT SINGLE – “Found It In You”
Tiera Kennedy grew up in Alabama where she got her love of singing from her mom, and was encouraged by both of her parents to try all kinds of activities. But it was during her days performing at the local Chick-fil-A that Tiera was introduced to and developed a love for country music.
Tiera Kennedy – music growing up :47
“I definitely got the singing from my mom. She never really like, sang out in public. She would just kinda sing around the house. And I feel like growing up my parents really encouraged us to try all different kinds of things. So, I did dancing and modeling and acting. Wasn’t really good at any of those, and so I just fell in love with music. And I always loved listening to anything that my parents played around the house, and what my friends were listening to. And I feel like it’s kind of around middle school when I really got serious about music. And I started playing around my hometown, playing festivals, and I would even play at the Chick-fil-A in my hometown. Cause I met this group of bluegrass guys, and they just kinda taught me what country music was, and so we would play covers in our local Chick-fil-A.”
Don’t forget to watch Tiera’s performance Tuesday night on the Academy of Country Music Honors. She’ll be performing “From This Moment” as part of the segment honoring Shania Twain as one of this year’s ACM Poet’s Award
