(AUDIO) Tim McGraw Believes Every Song On His Sundown Heaven Town Album Is Right For Radio

Tim McGraw’s new album Sundown Heaven Town is unique to him, in that he believes every song on there could be a single on the radio. His current single that he’s promoting is “Shotgun Rider,” but he says, “Every song on there I could see being released for radio and being played. If I had my way it’d be one of those albums that you could turn in and just say, there’s not a single. Every station could play whatever song they want. I wish there was a way to do that, but I know you have to have a focus and you have to pick a song.”

He hasn’t always had the same feeling about all of his albums. Tim says, “I always put a lot of care in the type of songs that I pick and I always let the song speak first, and I always love every song, but I always know that there are songs that are a little more artistic or other songs that are a little more not really radio, but just more for reflection and for listening and for just sort of creating a part of the body of an album.”

With Sundown Heaven Town he believes that every song is radio friendly and that every song on the album has the equal possibility of making it onto the radio as a future single. “Shotgun Rider” is the third single he’s released off the album, and it’s likely there could be many more to come.

Tim McGraw – wish could not have a single :44
“I always put a lot of care in the type of songs that I pick and I always let the song speak first, and I always love every song but I always know that there are songs that are a little more artistic or other songs that are a little more not really radio, but just more for reflection and for listening and for just sort of creating a part of the body of an album. But I think this album in particular, every song on there I could see being released for radio and being played. If I had my way it’d be one of those albums that you could turn in and just say, there’s not a single. Every station could play whatever song they want. I wish there was a way to do that, but I know you have to have a focus and you have to pick a song. Everybody has to focus on one, but I wish there was a way to turn in a project and say, there’s really not a single, you can play anything that you want, and that’s what this album would be for me.”
