RECENT #1 SINGLE: “I Called Mama”
Tim McGraw is not only a country music super star, he’s also earned a name for himself as an actor, having starred or appeared in movies like The Blind Side, The Shack, Friday Night Lights and Four Christmases. To Tim, singing and acting have a lot in common. He says, “I guess they’re kissing cousins in a lot of ways. I mean, certainly you’re flexing different muscles doing it. I think that telling stories is the main thing. I think sometimes you can forget that when you’re singing, you’re telling a story and I think that that’s really important to keep in mind. And I think that acting has always reminded me of that, that when you’re singing a song you’re telling a story.”
While Tim has turned in some great performances on screen, he is always in awe of great actors. “I have a ton of respect for actors,” says Tim. “I don’t know how many movies I’ve done now, but the people I’ve worked with and the actors I’ve worked with and seeing how good they are, seeing how professional they are and seeing what a craft it is, I’ve gained so much respect for ‘em. And I’m lucky to have been able to work with some of the best there is.”
Tim just released his greatest hits album, McGraw Machine Hits, and he says if he can find the right script at the right time, when he can fit the filming into his schedule, he is definitely interested in taking on more acting jobs in the future.
