LATEST #1 SINGLE: “I Called Mama”
Everybody is hopeful that live music will be able to return on a more consistent, larger scale basis in 2021, including Tim McGraw. But even he admits he’s not sure what touring will look like when it does return. “It’s hard to know right now, right? It’s hard to figure out what that’s gonna look like. I mean, hopefully, we all hope that it’ll be like it was, you know, where everybody’s crammed in there and having a great time. That’s what you love about going to concerts and playing music.”
Tim misses touring as much as if not more than a lot of artists because he says, “For me, I think that my whole career and even gettin’ my record deal was based on me playin’ live. I mean, I’m no Pavarotti that’s gonna go out there and sing you into thinking that I’m the best singer in the world and you’re gonna give me a record deal. I think my music live is the whole catalyst for my career.”
So, while Tim would love to get back to performing for arenas full of fans standing shoulder to shoulder having the time of their lives, he says, “I hope it’s gonna be the same, but look, we’re not gonna do anything that doesn’t have everybody’s best interest at heart. I think it’s gotta be as safe as you possibly can be and err on the side of caution. But I also want it to be like it was when we go out. That’s what I want. I mean, that’s what I hope.”
So far, Tim has two tour dates on the books for 2021, including the Watershed Music Festival on July 31st and a show at the Minnesota State Fair on September 1st.
