CURRENT SINGLE – “7500 OBO”
Tim McGraw has been making music for over three decades, and he admits that some of his earlier songs have taken on new meaning or emotion as he’s gotten older and experienced more life. “When you’re 26 years old, you know, you’re looking for a good song at that point, and you hope perform it well,” explains Tim. “And you go in the studio and you’re tryin’ to make good music and you’re trying to learn as you go, and all those things. So, everything sort of goes by you a little bit differently than it does when you’ve lived more life and you have your own kids and you have your own family and you’re looking back at it.”
While Tim’s performances on some of his earlier songs were powerful and convincing, he says, “Now, I listen to songs, and I’m like, maybe I could emote it differently because I found a different way of putting myself into character into that song. I feel like it’s a lot more personal than it used to be when I was young.”
While Tim was able to hear the emotion and the power in some of his earlier hits when he chose to record them, now at 54 years old, Tim says he’s realized, “When life steps in and really gets into the cracks of your life and causes the cracks in your face, that’s where the beauty comes from I think in a lot of ways.”
