In addition to promoting his latest single, “Top of the World,” Tim McGraw has been busy with a couple of acting projects, including a movie based on the best-selling book The Shack, and a TV series for TNT called Robbers. While Tim’s focus on music and touring doesn’t allow him a lot of extra time for acting projects, he says he’s always looking for new projects. “I’m always reading stuff. It’s not unlike finding songs when you have to search and search and search and search and not settle and not settle and not settle and find stuff that you really, really love,” says Tim. “Still, if you find something you really love, the timing could be off. I only have so many months, maybe six weeks or eight weeks out of the year, that I have time to even do anything. And that’s a set period of time for me, it’s usually not something that I can move around. So I have to find something that I love that falls into that time period that I’m available to do it.”
Even if Tim finds a script he loves that fits into his schedule, the makers of the film also have to want him for the part. If a part came along that he wanted and the people casting the movie wanted him but it didn’t fit into his schedule, Tim says, “If something were to come along that was just out of this world that I just could not not do and it didn’t fall within that period, I’d certainly try to find a way to do it. But so far, nothing like that has happened. But there are a few projects that are close.”
Tim will release his new album, Damn Country Music, featuring “Top of the World,” on November 6th.

Tim McGraw – acting always looking :48
“It’s not a lot of time, but I’m always looking. I’m always reading stuff. It’s not unlike finding songs when you have to search and search and search and search and not settle and not settle and not settle and find stuff that you really, really love. Still, if you find something you really love, the timing could be off. I only have so many months, maybe six weeks or eight weeks out of the year, that I have time to even do anything. And that’s a set period of time for me, it’s usually not something that I can move around. So I have to find something that I love that falls into that time period that I’m available to do it. And then thirdly, they gotta be interested in me doing it. So it’s three things have to come together for that to happen. That being said, if something were to come along that was just out of this world that I just could not not do and it didn’t fall within that period, I’d certainly try to find a way to do it. But so far, nothing like that has happened. But there are a few projects that are close.”
