(AUDIO) Tim McGraw Is Not Surprised That Country Acts Are Filling Stadiums

Lately more than ever it seems country music stars are having huge success staging concerts in stadium-size venues and Tim McGraw says he’s not surprised by it at all. He says, “Country music doesn’t get the credit, I think, a lot of times that it deserves. Course, you probably heard that for years. But, it just speaks to so many people and I think it’s just having such a great; I mean it’s been goin’ great for a long time but it’s havin’ such a great resurgence right now.”

He is a little blown away by the number of tickets that country acts are selling, sometimes selling out stadiums two and three nights in a row, but he says, “I think it’s because there’s a realness to [the music]. I think there’s an approachability to country music and I think that it’s sort of speaks to a large spectrum of people; and I think that that’s why you can see artists goin’ out and fillin’ up stadiums. That’s the reason it’s doin’ that. It’s just connection. It’s a connection with people that country music has that, I think, that’s always been there but it seems to be just growin’ exponentially.”

Tim will launch his own new tour this spring to promote his new album, which he’ll release in May, featuring his latest single, “Lookin’ for That Girl.”

Tim McGraw – country in stadiums :44
“You know, country music doesn’t get the credit, I think, a lot of times that it deserves. Course, you probably heard that for years. But, it just speaks to so many people and I think it’s just having such a great; I mean it’s been goin’ great for a long time but it’s havin’ such a great resurgence right now. And I can’t believe the tickets that country music’s sellin’ or the success that country music’s havin’ on the radio and I think it’s because there’s a realness to it. I think there’s an approachability to country music and I think that it’s sort of speaks to a large spectrum of people; and I think that that’s why you can see artists goin’ out and fillin’ up stadiums.
