Tim McGraw enjoys making music videos, but he admits, sometimes he’d rather not make a video and let the listener create their own video in their mind instead. He says, “Even though it’s part of the business of what you do, and it’s fun to do, and it’s another expression of art when you do a video, sometimes I think that they can take away a little bit from your own reel that people create when they listen to a song.”
Tim believes sometimes the listener can imagine a better video than he could ever put out so he says, “Sometimes you don’t wanna do that. You wanna let everybody just sort of have their own story.”
You can see a performance video of Tim’s latest song, “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools,” on VEVO.com, or formulate your own video in your mind.

Tim McGraw – create own stories from music :26
“Yeah, I want people to live with it, and I also want them to create their own stories out of it. Even though it’s part of the business of what you do, and it’s fun to do, and it’s another expression of art when you do a video, sometimes I think that they can take away a little bit from your own reel that people create when they listen to a song, and I think that the story that they create sometimes can be even better than the video that you could create, so sometimes you don’t wanna do that, you wanna let everybody just sort of have their own story.”
