Tim McGraw will be part of the upcoming NBC special, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful. The two hour special will be hosted by former swimsuit cover model Heidi Klum and will feature some of the most famous faces who have appeared in the magazine’s swimsuit edition, including Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley, Kathy Ireland, Marisa Miller and Kate Upton. Tim will sing his brand new single, “Lookin’ for That Girl” and he says, “It’s the first time we’ve ever played it live. First time we’ve ever played it, period … And then, first time live in front of an audience was at that show. And they incorporated some great shots of the models throughout the years and some of the covers throughout the years within the song itself and for the background for the video screens during the performance.”
Tim says the cool thing about being involved in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit special is, “Every guy’s grown up, not only guys, but everybody’s grown up with that bein’ sort of a part of the American sports culture, is the swim suit edition. I mean, I certainly as a kid growin’ up, I remember gettin’ it and seein’ it.” As an athlete, Tim got Sports Illustrated all year long, but then he laughs and says, “There was certainly somethin’ special about the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue that we don’t need to go into detail about. But it was cool bein’ there.”
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful will air February 3rd at 9pm ET on NBC.
By the way, congratulations to Tim McGraw on his seven ACM nominations, including Video of the Year for “Highway Don’t Care” featuring Taylor Swift & Keith Urban. He is also nominated twice for Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year awards as both the artist and producer.

Tim McGraw – song performing on SI special :42
“We’re gonna do, ‘Lookin’ for That Girl,’ our new single. It’s the first time we’ve ever played it live. First time we’ve ever played it, period. Some of the guys in the band played it on the record. We rehearsed it the day before, which was the first time we ever really got together and learned the song and played it. And then, first time live in front of an audience was at that show and they incorporated some great shots of the models throughout the years and some of the covers throughout the years within the song itself and for the background for the video screens during the performance. Robert Deaton, who produced the show, is a great friend of mine and has done a lot of work for Faith and myself, and does the CMAs. He knows exactly what I like and the way I like things to look. So, he’s great to work with. So, I think it’s going to be a cool performance.”

Tim McGraw – being part of SI special :37
“The cool thing about doing the Sports Illustrated show, I think it’s called ’50 Years of Beautiful,’ is every guy’s grown up, not only guys, but everybody’s grown up with that bein’ sort of a part of the American sports culture, is the swim suit edition. I mean, I certainly as a kid growin’ up, I remember gettin’ it and seein’ it. You know, you got Sports Illustrated all through the year, with football and basketball season. And as an athlete growin’ up too, you’re always payin’ attention to that. But, there was certainly somethin’ special about the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue that we don’t need to go into detail about. But it was cool bein’ there.”
