CURRENT SINGLE – “7500 OBO”
Tim McGraw is a long way from roughing it these days, thanks to an incredibly successful music and acting career, but he still remembers those leaner days quite vividly. “I remember when I first signed, I got some gigs right away and I had no furniture in my house. In fact, I remember Deano, who plays fiddle for me, before I had a record deal would come to my apartment, and nine times out of 10 my electricity would be turned off. And he would call me and say, ‘Hey I wanna come over and play some music.”
Since he was broke, Tim remembers telling guests they couldn’t show up empty handed. Whenever Deano would want to come over and play music, Tim says, “I’d say you have to bring a fire log and some wood because I don’t have any heat, and you have to bring a bag of Doritos. And we would sit there and play George Strait songs.”
Perhaps all those days and nights without electricity were preparing Tim for his role on 1883, which just wrapped its first season on Paramount+.
