If you ask anyone, they’ll tell you one of the greatest things about Tim McGraw as an artist is his ability to pick fantastic songs, like his latest single, “Humble and Kind.” Tim credits wisdom and experience with being able to pick songs. He says, “I think that I’ve been around long enough that I know myself as an artist and I know sort of the atmosphere that I create musically with the kind of stuff that I do.”
Tim realizes that the landscape of country music is always changing and evolving, so he says, “I’m also permeable in a lot of ways. I also am influenced by things that I hear. I’m influenced by what’s going on in all different genres of music. So I keep myself open to that. That stuff comes in to my musical world and sort of comes out when I’m making records.”
While Tim keeps an open mind to the ever-changing sounds that are on country radio, he says, “I still stay on the road and the path that I create and have created musically for myself and know myself as an artist. So I think that I have a good solid baseline and I like bringing other things in to sort of hook along with that as I go.”
“Humble and Kind” is currently in the top five and is poised to become Tim’s next number one song.”
