The first trailer for the upcoming movie, The Shack, starring Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer and Tim McGraw, was released a couple of weeks ago. It’s based on the 2011 best-selling novel, The Shack, and Tim says, “It’s certainly a really heartfelt and heartbreaking at times film. The story is certainly a story of redemption. Anybody that’s read the book knows that.”
Tim plays a character named Willie in The Shack, who is Sam Worthington’s character’s best friend, and he says his character is “sort of the audience, in a lot of ways, of the movie, and looks at it from the audience perspective. I narrate the film as well, which is pretty much a treat for me to be able to do that and sort of be the voice of the film.”
The Shack will be released in theaters March 3, 2017. In the meantime, Tim’s latest single, “How I’ll Always Be,” is inching closer and closer to being his 43rd #1 song of his career, and he and Faith Hill are preparing for their Soul2Soul World Tour, which will kick off in April.

You know Sam Worthington, who blew me away with his acting chops working with him he’s just such a talented, talented actor. Octavia Spencer’s in the movie. My character Willie is sort of the lead character’s best friend and sort of the audience in a lot of ways of the movie, and looks at it from the audience perspective. I narrate the film as well, which is pretty much a treat for me to be able to do that and sort of be the voice of the film.”
