Tim McGraw, who has another top ten (and climbing) hit to his credit with “Shotgun Rider,” has been known to stop a concert to get rowdy fans in check, which is something he’d prefer not to have to do, but sometimes when it’s endangering people and ruining other people’s concert experience he finds it’s necessary. Tim says, “Look, I don’t think that anybody wants to quell the excitement of a concert. I don’t think that any artist wants people to back off on their enthusiasm, but I also think that you have to have a certain responsibility about yourself, not only the fans, but the artists as well. I don’t like seeing anybody’s experience ruined.”
Tim also knows that people who go to concerts may have different ideas of how to enjoy the show, with some preferring to get up and dance and have a good time and others who prefer to just sit and listen, and he says, “I think everybody should have fun. I think there’s tolerance that should be both ways. I think that there should be tolerance for the people who don’t wanna stand up and jump up and down and scream, but there also should be some sort of understanding for the people that do want to. So, I think it’s gotta work both ways.”
