(AUDIO) TIM McGRAW’S “7500 OBO” WAS CLEVERLY CRAFTED JUST FOR HIM

CURRENT SINGLE – “7500 OBO”

Tim McGraw didn’t write his latest song, “7500 OBO,” but it seems the writers who did were channeling Tim when they wrote it, with song lyrics like “shotgun ridin’” and “where the green grass grows” in the song.  Tim definitely noticed those lines when he first heard the demo, and thinks they may have been writing the song with him in mind to record it. “I think they probably did that, because when we had the demo, it had a little piece of that ‘Green Grass Grows’ fiddle in it,” says Tim.  “We put it in there as well but  we had to do it a little different to make it fit right. But it also has ‘Let It Go’ (the title track of his 9th studio album) in there. So, I think it was pretty much aimed at me.”

Tim appreciates that the writers wrote the song specifically with him in mind, because, he laughs and says, “It makes me think, alright, if they aimed the song at me then maybe I can sing it. So it gave me a little confidence goin’ in.”

Tim has always been the first to be self-deprecating about his own singing, but clearly he nailed the vocals on “7500 OBO.”
