(AUDIO) Tim McGraw’s Daughters Could Be Following In His Footsteps

When Tim McGraw was out on his Sundown Heaven Town Tour, he would play pre-show acoustic sets for some lucky winners and invited guests, and before one particular show in Rogers, Arkansas, his youngest daughter Audrey asked if she could sing a song during his performance. All three of Tim’s daughters are really good singers but he says, “I was pretty awestruck that she decided to actually go through with it ‘cause she’s really never done anything like that before… And for her to follow through, I thought she’d back out at the last minute and not do it.”

Tim was especially impressed with Audrey’s confidence and her style. He laughs and says, “The funniest thing to me about it was, she got up there and she sang and she didn’t show a bit of nerves, she just sang the song and then she didn’t acknowledge the crowd or anything. She just sang her song, go up and walked off. Like, that’s the way to do it. That’s the way to handle it.”

Tim, who just released his new single, “Shotgun Rider,” would support any of his daughters if they decided to pursue music. He says, “I want ‘em to follow their heart and do what they wanna do. I just want ‘em to have a doctorate in front of their name before they do it.

“I want ‘em to follow their heart and do what they wanna do. I just want ‘em to have a doctorate in front of their name before they do it. I don’t know. I was pretty awestruck that she decided to actually go through with it ‘cause she’s really never done anything like that before and she asked me that day about doing it, and I knew she could sing. All of ‘em can sing! All of ‘em are really good singers, actually. And for her to follow through, I thought she’d back out at the last minute and not do it. We were flyin’ in that day, her and I were in actually my airplane flyin’ over to Arkansas to do this show and she had asked if she could do it. And so we got there and we had like five minutes before the preshow started and so she sat down with the guys and worked out the song one time, and then we got on stage and did it. The funniest thing to me about it was, she got up there and she sang and she didn’t show a bit of nerves, she just sang the song and then she didn’t acknowledge the crowd or anything. She just sang her song, go up and walked off. Like, that’s the way to do it. That’s the way to handle it.”
