Tim McGraw will be the first person to tell you that he is not very tech savvy. For instance, Tim says he uses his smartphone mostly … as a phone, and occasionally he FaceTime’s with his mom. “She FaceTime‘s, which is good,” says Tim. “We get to FaceTime with her.”
But in general, Tim and his mom’s smartphone skills are probably on par. “She’s probably better than I am,” he says, “but she’s not really tech savvy. But she does do the emojis. Like when I sent her ‘I Called Mama,’ she just sent, like a bunch of crying emojis, which meant that she wasn’t gonna call because she was crying, and she didn’t want to talk.”
In fact, unless Tim is in the same room with his mom, her preferred form of communication is texting. “She’s not a phone talker,” explains Tim. She doesn’t like to talk. She’d rather text. But if you see her in person, she’ll talk your ear off all day. But she’s not a big phone talker.”
As for Tim, he could probably get by with a flip phone for as little of the available technology he uses on his smartphone.
