CURRENT SINGLE – “Undivided” w/ Tyler Hubbard
For years, Tim McGraw’s tour mates have talked about his workouts on the road, and many of them have turned down his invitation to join him because of the grueling nature of his lengthy workouts. When Tim’s home, he only works out for about an hour and a half a day. But on the road, he says, “It starts out an hour and a half in the morning, and then we do 20 laps up and down the lawn carrying weight. And then it’s a break, and then it’s two hours in the afternoon.”
While most people couldn’t imagine doing all those workouts during the day and then performing a two hour concert at night, Tim says, “I learned from my coach early on, Coach Butler, he used to tell us all the time, practice has to be harder than work. You know, practice has to be harder than the game. So, I live by that philosophy when it’s touring.”
Tim says all of that working out during the day actually makes his shows more enjoyable. “Like, you work really hard all day long, and by the time you hit the show, then you’ve got two hours of doing a show, then it’s fun and easy.”
So far, Tim has two dates on his tour schedule for 2021, but he definitely hopes to add more as the pandemic subsides.
