(AUDIO) TOURING WITH OLD DOMINION IS A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT FOR CARLY PEARCE

Carly Pearce just played her first three dates on the ‘We Are Old Dominion Tour’ this past weekend up in Canada, and for Carly, getting to tour with her old friends is a full circle moment.  “Obviously, I’ve gotten a tour with so many people that I love so much and have been so lucky,” says Carly, “but when I got that call, it felt extra special because we used to play shows together in Nashville eight years ago when nobody was there.”

Carly, who just released her sophomore album, featuring her top 15 song with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” and other deeply personal songs, is also excited that Old Dominion fans tend to come to their shows to actually listen to the songs and appreciate the art.  “This is the first tour that I feel like people buy Old Dominion tickets for their artistry and their songs and their songwriting,” explains Carly, “not for the show. And I feel like a lot of what my music is, is about the songwriting. So, I’m very excited to see the differentiation of this tour versus any other I’ve been a part of.”

Carly will rejoin the ‘We Are Old Dominion Tour’ in May when they kick off the U.S. leg of the tour.

“Obviously, I’ve gotten a tour with so many people that I love so much and have been so lucky. But when I got that call, it felt extra special because we used to play shows together in Nashville eight years ago when nobody was there. It would be Old Dominion and myself sharing a bill for an ASCAP showcase. So that’s really funny and I still have old photos of that that I’m gonna have to dig up and find. But also, this is the first tour that I feel like people buy Old Dominion tickets for their artistry and their songs and their songwriting, not for the show. And I feel like a lot of what my music is, is about the songwriting. So, I’m very excited to see the differentiation of this tour versus any other I’ve been a part of.”
