Before Trent Harmon won season 15 of American Idol, he was working as a waiter at his parents’ restaurant, but it turns out he actually had another life plan. Trent reveals, “I was gonna teach. I mean like I can teach. I got my accreditation and I was into all that process of finishing that, and I did and I realized before I went to go teach, I was like, you know what? Why don’t I just go take a year off, pursue music 100% and see what happens.”
Trent didn’t end up sticking to his one year plan. He says, “Well then two years went by and I was like, I was getting a little bit further but not far enough to say that I was really making any way into the music world, but it was enough that I couldn’t quit. And so you know, two years went out and then three years went by, then four years went by. So yeah, I’m glad I didn’t quit.”
It may have taken a little longer, but fortunately it all paid off and Trent is now busy promoting his debut single, “There’s A Girl,” and working on his debut album to release later this year.
