(AUDIO) TUCKER BEATHARD AVOIDED BEING JUST LIKE HIS DAD AS LONG AS HE COULD

Like any kid, Tucker Beathard was rebellious and didn’t want to be like his parents, especially his dad, who is a successful country songwriter, so even though he always had a love of music from the time he was a kid, Tucker says, “I gravitated towards music but tried to stay away from, you know, anything that my dad was doing or anything like that. And we fought a lot growing up. I was really stubborn and got into a lot of trouble, and we didn’t talk that much. But then when I started writing songs and we started writing songs, it just clicked and kind of rekindled our relationship and we’re really close now because we think a lot alike, you know, whether I like it or not. We work great together.”

Tucker started out in punk and rock bands, but eventually found his love of country through his songwriting, with songs like his current single, “Momma and Jesus.”  Tucker will be in Las Vegas this weekend for the ACM Awards festivities, including the Saturday night ACM Party for a Cause: WME Bash at the Beach at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino with Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Chris Lane and more.

Tucker Beathard – coming around to country  :31

“Yeah it was definitely some resistance.  I mean naturally, like ever since I was born, I gravitated towards music but tried to stay away from, you know, anything that my dad was doing or anything like that.
