(AUDIO) TUCKER BEATHARD FACES THE CHALLENGE OF PLAYING NO COVER SONGS

Tucker Beathard is unique in his live shows in that he does not play any cover songs.  Tucker admits it’s not always easy to perform nothing but original material.  He says, “It’s tough. It’s actually really tough. Especially some of those bars that would book us or the saloons would book us and be like you’ve gotta play for 90 minutes. It’s like do you realize we’re gonna play 90 minutes of songs nobody knows? I guess they didn’t believe us. We got cut short and kicked off stage one time because I guess they didn’t believe us or whatever.”

As challenging as it can be to never perform cover songs in his live shows, Tucker wouldn’t have it any other way. He says, “I’m an artist who is passionate about what I do and it’s all about the music and whatnot. It really is more rewarding to see one person give a crap and win over one person in a crowd from my own songs than get the whole crowd dancing from songs they know. I just feel like it’s a lasting thing if you win them over with your own stuff.”

Tyler has definitely been winning people over with his debut single, “Rock On,” which is in the top five on the charts and continuing to climb toward the top.

It’s like do you realize we’re gonna play 90 minutes of songs nobody knows? I guess they didn’t believe us. We got cut short and kicked off stage one time, because I guess they didn’t believe us or whatever. I mean that’s kinda the bottom-line. I’m an artist who is passionate about what I do and it’s all about the music and whatnot. It really is more rewarding to see one person give a crap and win over one person in a crowd from my own songs than get the whole crowd dancing from songs they know.
