Tucker Beathard is currently opening for Brantley Gilbert on The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour. He’s also playing some of his own solo gigs in between at smaller venues, and he says the biggest difference between his shows in the arenas, verses the club shows he plays, are the time constraints. Tucker says, “I guess it kind of depends on how long you have on the set. Like we’re the opener so we’re … you know I don’t want to overstep any boundaries. And we changed the set up even on this tour but you still don’t want to overstep the limit that you have on songs to play because it’s not your right to.”
When Tucker is playing his own shows at a club, he doesn’t have to worry about running over his allotted time, to an extent obviously. But he’s more free to play not only his singles, like his latest, “Momma and Jesus,” but he can go deep into his catalog and play his whole EP, or maybe even some of the new material he’s working on for his next album. Whether he’s playing in a club or an arena, Tucker says, “You got to respect where you are on the totem pole and I don’t know, I think bottom line, every show is different and crowd wise you know, you kind of feed off of it.”

Tucker Beathard – changing shows for crowd size :33
“I don’t know, I guess it kind of depends on how long you have on the set. Like we’re the opener so we’re … you know I don’t want to overstep any boundaries. And we changed the set up even on this tour but you still don’t want to overstep the limit that you have on songs to play because it’s not your right to. You know, like if you’re playing a club show and you’re, you know, whatever, you can kind of just do whatever you want and if it goes over it’s like who cares. But like this stuff you know you got to respect where you are on the totem pole and I don’t know, I think bottom line, every show is different and crowd wise you know, you kind of feed off of it.”
