There’s nothing like the bond between brothers, and that holds true for Tucker and his older brother, CJ Beathard, who was the starting quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Tucker says he would often play armchair quarterback to his brother and offer comments and critiques of his games, and in turn, CJ is also a music critic sometimes to Tucker. Tucker says, “He’s another one that I like actually getting feedback from because it’s also nice to get feedback from somebody like my brother who, he’s not going to listen to a song as critically as like my dad who is a songwriter. So my brother will, I take his opinion to heart in a different light of it.”
But Tucker, who is currently climbing the charts with his song “Momma and Jesus,” doesn’t always appreciate his CJ’s opinions. He says, “He pisses me off sometimes. You know it’s like, ‘Dude, you gotta check this song out.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, I don’t really like it.’ It’s like, ‘Screw you.’”
