DEBUT SINGLE – “Learn From It”
Conner Smith celebrated his 21st birthday last September, and based on some of the lines in his debut single, “Learn from It,” – like, “And I guess dad really did count the beers in the basement fridge. He got stern from it, but yeah I learned from it,” we wondered if turning 21 was still a big deal for him. Conner says, “It was a big deal for me because I’m in such an adult world, where my peers and like, my people are full functioning adults. So, when we are all writing a song and they want to go grab a beer at the bar, it’s like, ‘All right guys, can’t really get in.’ So it was a milestone where like, I officially don’t have to worry about that kinda thing.”
Besides being able to socialize anywhere with his peers, Conner says the actual day of his birthday was definitely a party fit for a 21 year old. “We celebrated because the first show I had after being 21 – I turned 21 on Monday and that Thursday I opened up for Sam Hunt at a casino,” shares Conner. And he says, “Whoever thought that was a good idea, it wasn’t. But, I’m thankful because we had a good time.”
