NEW SINGLE – “Better Than You’re Used To”
Summertime unofficially begins this weekend with Memorial Day, which means Tyler Rich will be heading to the lake or the beach whenever he gets the chance, although you probably won’t find him in the water a whole lot. Tyler is the first to admit that he is not a very athletic guy, so even though he’s from Northern California and he spent a lot of time on the water when he was growing up, he tends to enjoy being more of a spectator when it comes to water activities. “I would go out on the boat every summer all the time,” says Tyler. “We grew up next to lakes, and all the friends would be wakeboarding and I would just fall every five seconds I tried to get up. And I was like, this is not fun. What’s fun for me is sitting on the boat drinking and listening to music, watching my friends almost die on waves.”
Tyler also appreciates “just sitting on the coast, just sitting in the sand,” because he’s not too fond of the idea of becoming lunch for a shark. People try to convince him it’s totally safe to get in the water, but Tyler says, “I don’t necessarily love to get into the ocean because, you know, they’re like, ‘Oh, you’ll never get bit by a shark because the chances are blah blah blah blah.’ Well I’m like, ‘The chances are blah blah blah blah and zero if I’m just chillin on the sand.’ Especially in California. L.A., there’s so many Great Whites in the water now.”
Tyler does get in the water and swim from time to time, but he’d much rather be floating in a boat or sittin’ with his toes in the sand.
Tyler Rich – summertime :31
“I would go out on the boat every summer, all the time. We grew up next to lakes and all the friends would be wakeboarding and I would just fall every five seconds I tried to get up. And I was like, this is not fun. What’s fun for me is sitting on the boat drinking and listening to music, watching my friends almost die on waves. Being from California, and growing up around the water, man, and just sitting on the coast, just sitting in the sand doing anything water related. I don’t necessarily love to get into the ocean because, you know, they’re like, ‘Oh, you’ll never get bit by a shark because the chances are blah blah blah blah.’ Well I’m like, ‘The chances are blah blah blah blah and zero if I’m just chillin on the sand.’ Especially in California.
