A lot of newer artists are able to measure their progress each year by which stage they perform on at the CMA Music Festival. There are dozens of stage set up all over town, most of them free, ranging from brand new artists who may not even have a record deal, to the bigger stars on the nightly stadium stage. For Tyler Rich, this year’s CMA Fest marks a milestone for him, because he has graduated to the Riverfront Stage, which is usually the last step before getting to play at the stadium, which is something Tyler has been dreaming about for years. ““I moved to Nashville on Cinco de Mayo 2015, and then exactly one month later was at CMA fest for my first time. If you’ve ever moved to a city with a dream and been inspired of this is what I need to do and this is what I have to do, it was that. And just walking around watching all these amazing artists playing these free shows out on the streets and thousands and thousands of people coming to town. I was like, ‘I have to play this.’
When Tyler first started performing at CMA fest as an unknown artist, his crowds were pretty small, but then he says, “Last year I got to do Hard Rock Stage where our crowd was about quadruple what it was the year before. And this year, we skipped the Park Stage, we went straight to Chevy Riverfront and so it’s gonna be frickin’ awesome.”
Tyler is excited to sing his new song, “Leave Her Wild,” at CMA Fest. To find out where he will be all weekend, check TylerRich.com.
