Tyler Rich just released his debut single, “The Difference,” a couple of weeks ago, but for a brand new artist he has quite an impressive social media following, with close to 60,000 followers on Twitter and over 147,000 Instagram followers. Tyler was very intentional about building his fan base through social media long before he had his record deal. He says, “I can’t stress enough how important social media is. The first year, when Instagram was really blowing up, I would, and I didn’t even stop doing this until about a year and a half ago, go to shows and walk up and down the line of a show handing out these little business cards, little promo cards that would have my face, my name and on the back you would have my social media link for Instagram and Twitter and it would have a download to a free song on ReverbNation. And I would have those out to people in line. I would go to festivals like Stagecoach and walk around and hand them for hours at the shows. And because of that I started to get just such a huge social media following and it wasn’t just random people it was people that were interacting. It was an active social media following.”
Now that Tyler’s career is off and running with “The Difference” on the radio and starting to climb the charts, his social media following will only continue to grow and remain a valuable tool for Tyler to be able to interact and connect with his fans.
