CURRENT SINGLE: “You Didn’t”
Brett Young is kind of a classic guy, so it’s no surprise that when it comes to decorating his house for Christmas, he’s not the guy stringing lights all over his front yard and putting up giant decorations all over the place.
Brett Young – Christmas not a Griswold :33
“I am definitely a ‘kinda puts up some decorations guy’. I’m not a Griswold, to the point where I have pretty much just told my wife, just tell me what you want, where, because it’s almost like dressing myself these days. I’m like, ‘I’m not gonna make decisions, so you just tell me what you’d like to have happen. I love this time of year. I want you to be happy with the way it looks, cause I’m gonna be like brought into the cheer of the season either way.’ So, I’m not a Griswold. We’re not gonna be shootin’ Christmas trees through the next-door neighbor’s window anytime soon. But I do love having the house decorated and my wife is really good at that.”
After Christmas, of course, comes New Year’s Eve, and Brett just released “You Ain’t Here to Kiss Me (2022),” a new version of the song that was featured on his self-titled debut album, which he released in 2017. The deeply personal song was inspired by a real-life New Year’s Eve Brett spent alone on a plane after breaking up with his then girlfriend, now wife, Taylor.
