Riley Green is a country boy from Alabama who loves to hunt and fish, so it’s no big surprise that when he’s stressed out or just needs to clear his head, he says, “If it’s anything hunting season is in, that’s what I do. But I mean, even if it’s not, I get some type of enjoyment out of going out in the woods – just walk around and being outside and kind of disconnecting from society, I guess.”
Not only does the fresh air and outdoor environment allow Riley to clear his head, but he says, “To a certain extent it takes you kind of back to a childhood of, I mean I used to just enjoy runnin’ around the woods and that’s kind of it for me. I can get in my truck and ride around my hometown or something.”
Riley, who is approaching the top ten with his song, “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died,” stays in an apartment in Nashville when he’s not able to get to his house in Alabama, and he says just getting in his truck and driving around in Nashville is not a good way to de-stress, “because traffic gets me right back into it, but back home that’s it, just gettin’ out of town a little ways and just kind of getting back to just me and my thoughts.”
Fortunately for Riley, there are plenty of wooded areas where he can escape on the outskirts of Nashville, if he just needs a few moments alone to be with his own thoughts.
