CURRENT SINGLE: “Long Live”
Florida Georgia Line’s current single, “Long Live,” is off their Life Rolls On album, which also has several very sexy songs on it, including “Eyes Closed,” “Hard to Get to Heaven” and “Long Time Comin’ If you look at the writing credits for those songs, they were all co-written by FGL’s Brian and Tyler, with male co-writers. We wondered if writing lines like, ‘Girl, we could use a vacation. Spend the whole week in the sheets. Ain’t no more keepin’ you waitin’. No, I know what you need,’ was ever awkward with a room full of guys. Tyler jokes, “It’s harder if you’re writing with a female that’s not your wife.”
Makes sense. But in all seriousness, Tyler says, “To write a song like ‘Hard to Get to Heaven,’ you know, kind of a sexier song with four dudes in a room, yeah, it can get interesting at times. But I guess we just all kinda know it is what it is, that we’re channeling a great song, and not really over-thinkin’ it.”
Fortunately, Florida Georgia Line hasn’t let the awkwardness of bouncing sexy seductive lines off their male co-writers keep them from writing some great songs.
