Zac Brown Band just released their new album, Jekyll + Hyde, and they say a lot of time and energy and love went into making the album, more than any of their previous projects. ““After we played a show this last year, we’d get on the bus and we’d write until four or five in the morning, and try to get the songs done and gather the songs, the best batch of songs that we had to come into this album, and we narrowed it down to about 21 songs, and once we got in we started recording them and we ended up with 16, so there’s a lot of love.”
Once they had the songs narrowed down, they spent a whole week at the beach arranging the songs and working on the harmonies and getting everything just right, before they went into the studio for four months to record the album. Zac says, “We’ve never spent that much time working on the album and I think that you can tell on this one. There’s that much detail on every single one of these songs, so you really have to listen to it a bunch of times to really kind of catch all the different nuances of what’s happening, and we got to spend the time and really do it justice.”
Zac describes Jekyll + Hyde as “Our most extravagant painting that we’ve ever done as a band.” The album features their brand new song, “Loving You Easy,” and it’s available now wherever music is sold.
