The Zac Brown Band has been making music together since in various configurations for about 15 years. During that time they have formed an incredibly close bond. Coy Bowles says, “The chances of getting to do something like we have had the opportunity to do and the magic between all of us. I’m the only child, so I never grew up having brothers. I would die for every single guy in this band.”
Fortunately, the band has experienced a lot of success in that 15 years, so they haven’t always had time to stop and reflect on all the great memories and accomplishments they’ve shared. They recently slowed down to collect memorabilia for their exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Coy says, “All of a sudden you have a time to stop and look back. It’s kind of like the small, silly stuff that really hits you the most, like the stick with Clay’s face on it where he had joined the band at a time where he couldn’t be nominated for a Grammy or whatever. When we won a Grammy, we carried around this little stick figure of his face. It might not seem like that much, but we loved him enough to where we were like, ‘You should be a part of this too, you know.’ So we’re gonna do this stupid, little stick figure for ya, you know.”
Zac Brown Band’s latest single, “Castway,” is off their current album, Jekyll + Hyde, but Zac recently posted a video on social media revealing that the band is back in the studio working on their next album, and he told fans that the band would be returning to their roots with the next album, which will have a similar sound to their debut album, The Foundation.

Zac Brown Band – little things mean the most :49
Coy Bowles – “The chances of getting to do something like we have had the opportunity to do and the magic between all of us. I’m the only child, so I never grew up having brothers. I would die for every single guy in this band. So you are moving forward so fast, and accomplishing all of these things, and you know constantly trying to create and just livin’ this life that’s fueled by everybody’s energy and all this. And all of a sudden you have a time to stop and look back. It’s kind of like the small, silly stuff that really hits you the most, like the stick with Clay’s face on it where he had joined the band at a time where he couldn’t be nominated for a Grammy or whatever. When we won a Grammy, we carried around this little stick figure of his face. It might not seem like that much, but we loved him enough to where we were like “you should be a part of this too, you know.” So we’re gonna do this stupid, little stick figure for ya, you know.”
