(AUDIO) Zac Brown Band Hopes To Build A Series Of Southern Ground Music & Food Festivals

The Zac Brown Band has built Southern Ground Music and Food Festivals in Charleston, SC and Nashville, and Zac says the goal is to create ten festivals at different spots around the country. The two or three day festivals involve dozens of artists playing each afternoon and evening, with Zac Brown Band headlining the nightly shows, plus they bring in all their own concession stands, in addition to local vendors and food trucks to create an entire music and food experience.

Zac loves the idea of having ten festivals each year because he says, “We’re lookin’ at thirty of our shows, twenty-five, thirty of our shows every year will be set up in the same citites and we’re just buildin’ it slow and steady and makin’ sure that the locations are right and that the community’s welcoming us.”

There’s obviously a lot of red tape and hurdles that have to be overcome to create a new festival in a new city, but Zac says, “Everything’s been good so far. We’ve climbed over a lotta those hurdles and people realize the quality of what we’re tryin’ to do, and try to really make our mark and it’s about exceeding expectations for us, that’s what we wanna do.”

Zac Brown Band’s new single is called “Homegrown,” and it’s the first release off their forthcoming album, which they will release this spring.
