One of Zac Brown’s passions is Camp Southern Ground, a camp he is in the process of building for children of all abilities to be able to enjoy the great outdoors. One way that he plans to raise money for the camp is by making some of his delicious dishes that he shares in his cookbook and with his fans during the band’s Eat and Greets available to the general public in grocery stores, similar to the Newman’s Own brand of food products.
“We’re working on it with the exact same model,” says Zac, “because all of [the proceeds of] our manufactured food and everything that we’re gonna put up will go to [Camp Southern Ground].” Zac is a big fan of the Newman’s Own business model and he says, “What they’ve done with that has been unbelievable as a charitable functioning business. And the quality of everything that they make is great. And the volume of it, it provides a lot of opportunity.”
There is no timeline when packaged Zac Brown food items will be available in grocery stores, but you can get updates at ZacBrownBand.com. In the meantime, the band is preparing to release their new album this spring, featuring their current single, “Homegrown.”
