Zac Brown Band’s new album, Jekyll + Hyde, will be available this Tuesday, and Zac explains that the title is not from a particular song on the album. Instead it represents the breadth and style of music that fans are gonna hear on this new record. He says, “It kind of time travels and goes to different genres and goes to different periods in time, and there’s some of them that have a real kind of darkness to them and some of them have a light and some of them are full of emotion and kind of a mourning in some of the songs and then some of them are just a celebration so it’s kind of like the yin and the yang that we all carry around with us.”
While Zac believes there’s a little bit of something for everyone on Jekyll + Hyde, he realizes there are some country purists who may not like everything they hear and may feel parts of the album stray too far from what they consider “country music.” But Zac explains, “Our intention is not to abandon any of the roots of where we come from. There’s great story songs on there, there’s Country songs on there, there’s some gospel-type songs on there, there’s some heavy philosophy on some of those songs. We had something to say, but there’s also some fun stuff. There’s also things that go into new places. That’s just exciting. It’s not about abandoning. It’s about expanding. It’s about growing as artists and as musicians and opening ourselves up to the world and what else the world has.”
Zac hopes that the wide range of music on Jekyll + Hyde will draw in new fans to country music and to their shows, and he says, “I’m excited. It can’t get here soon enough for me.”
Jekyll + Hyde features Zac Brown Band’s latest #1 song, “Homegrown,” and their brand new single, “Loving You Easy.”

Zac Brown Band – new album title :36
“We decided on the name Jekyll + Hyde because it foreshadows the breadth of the record and stylistically where this record has gone because it kind of time travels and goes to different genres and goes to different periods in time, and there’s some of them that have a real kind of darkness to them and some of them have a light and some of them are full of emotion and kind of a mourning in some of the songs and then some of them are just a celebration so it’s kind of like the yin and the yang that we all carry around with us, and music is the best medicine in the world to help for whatever emotion that you’re trying to do. I think there’s a little bit of something for everyone on this album.”

Zac Brown Band – pushing boundaries :47
“We’ve stretched before within the boundaries of it. We’ve just pushed the envelope on this album. It’s gonna be a surprise to some people and there’s gonna be some purists that only like a certain style, but our intention is not to abandon any of the roots of where we come from. It’s about growing as artists and as musicians and opening ourselves up to the world and what else the world has. It’s about bringing people to music and bringing them to the show, and I’m excited. It can’t get here soon enough for me.”
