(AUDIO) Zac Brown Becomes An Actor In The Recording Studio

Zac Brown Band just released their new album, Jekyll + Hyde, featuring their latest single, “Loving You Easy,” which represents just one style of music you’ll hear on the album. Zac never goes into the recording studio with a set idea of how a song should sound. Instead he says, “I try to just be really open and let the music kind of take us where it wants to go, so I do that with each song. Let the song have its own identity (and) try to accompany it by the way that it wants to by the way that it feels.”

Although every song starts as lyrics and an acoustic guitar, Zac says, “It’s like you’ve got a skeleton, which is the song by itself, and then you’ve got to put an outfit on it, right, so you’ve got to dress the song up and get it set for where it’s gonna be going. For me, this whole record is like being an actor and getting to step into different roles in each song to kind of take you to a different place and make you feel something different.”

Zac Brown Band’s Jekyll + Hyde album just debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.
