(AUDO) BRETT YOUNG ENJOYS THE UNIQUENESS OF EACH NUMBER ONE SONG

Brett Young has scored four #1 songs off his debut album, but the feeling when each one reached the top of the chart was different because he says, “of the people I wrote them with and also the topic of the song.”

Each song is special to Brett, and he considers them his babies.  He says, “If I pour myself into it they really become that. And so I think for me it kind of more depends on like what part of me is attached to that song.  And then it makes the feeling of the song having success and going there a little bit more [unique].”

Brett’s very first #1 song, “Sleep Without You,” is special because he says, “The first one is the first one and that’s just like your little golden child, right?  But they’re all kind of different.”

Brett’s latest single, “Mercy,” just spent two weeks at #1 on the charts, and the next song he releases will be a brand new song off of his forthcoming sophomore album.

I think, for me, because of the people I wrote them with and also the topic of the song. I joked earlier that my songs are like my babies.  If I pour myself into it they really become that. And so I think for me it kind of more depends on like what part of me is attached to that song.  And then it makes the feeling of the song having success and going there a little bit more … the first one is the first one and that’s just like your little golden child, right?  But they’re all kind of different.”
