Cassadee Pope has heard from fans how her songs like “Wasting All These Tears” and “I Am Invincible” have had a positive impact on them, and she says she’s also been affected by the messages of her own songs. “It’s very therapeutic for me to do music and to write and to perform. I definitely get into my own head when I’m on stage and I feel the songs I’m singing. It’s very rare that I’m distracted or focusing on something other than what I’m singing about. So to be able to perform songs like ‘Wasting All These Tears’ and ‘I Am Invincible’, it reminds me every time I get on that stage what my purpose is and what I’m supposed to stand for and to encourage people to be strong and to come up from whatever difficult time they’ve gone through and to get a thicker skin out of it.”
Cassadee’s EP, Summer, features some other powerful songs like “Piano” and “Alien,” which she hopes will give people strength and encouragement to be themselves. It also features her feel-good latest single, “Summer,” about an intense but short-lived summer romance.
