Before Drake White got a record deal, he just wanted to play his music anywhere and everywhere, for anybody that would listen. He says, “My motto was I’m gonna play anything, I don’t care if it’s a Dominos parkin’ lot or ‘The Ryman’, I’m gonna do anything in between those two.”

A lot of those “anywhere” gigs were at fraternity and sorority houses in college towns. He recalls one show where he was flaying for a frat house while standing on a hay bale. But he says, “Probably the craziest one, there was probably four or five-thousand people there and we’re playin’ as a duo, it’s just two acoustic guitars, and the stage is wet because it’s kinda rainin’ comin’ down, and the whole stage has got about a inch of water on it. So every time you walked up to the mic to sing it would shock you and we kept singin’.”

Now that he looks back on it he says, “How stupid? We should a just quit but we just kept right on rollin’ through and it just poured and all those guys were just dancin’ in the rain and we just partied and played all night.”

Drake brand new single on Dot Records, “Feels Good,” it just about to hit the airwaves.
