Tyler Hubbard talks about the experience and the tour vibe so far:

(Tyler Hubbard) “You know this is our very first headlining tour, the ‘Anything Goes Tour’ and it’s been amazing so far we’ve got amazing acts Thomas Rhett and Frankie Ballard, two very great guys good friends of ours, super talented artists. It’s been a ride man, it’s been amazing. The vibe out here is just epic every night’s a party and our fans have just blown us away on a nightly basis. It’s a big honor to be out here and it’s a huge honor to have those guys out here with us and you know what it’s been an amazing tour so far and we look forward to the rest of the year.”
From almost the beginning of their incredible career, the guys of Florida Georgia Line have had a camera man roll tape on just about every show to date. Brian Kelley talks about documenting their careers on video:

(Brian Kelley) “It’s amazing to have you know every night pretty much videotaped from you know the time you wake up till the time you go to sleep. We’ve got our video guy Justin out, we call him J Money. You know it really cool to pretty much document everything that we’re going through, everything that we’re experiencing, everyone that we’re meeting, you know it’s really awesome to live but no doubt it’s crazy to look back you know even five days from now, five years from now, fifty years from now on these moments that really kind of are defining who we are.”
Florida Georgia Line admits that before they hit the stage each night, they do indeed have a pre-show ritual as Tyler Hubbard explains:

(Tyler Hubbard) “Yeah every night before the show we have a ritual that BK and myself started the very first time we ever played together and it’s kind of evolved over the years, but every night we get together with our band, some of our crew guys and we kind of circle up backstage and do a ‘in with the good, out with the bad’ together we say a little prayer and then we do a chant kinda get us pumped up to hit the stage and that’s about it and then we hit the stage and we rock it.”
Sometimes when you hit the stage night after night, someone is bound to have a mishap or even take a tumble. The guys of Florida Georgia Line know this fact and as Brian Kelley shares, they simply ‘roll with it.”

(Brian Kelley) “You know if you fall or you trip or have a little moment on stage, you just kind got to roll with it. You gotta get up, get back on the horse again and just work hard you know. It’s funny I kinda… we have these toasters out on tour and I recently have been crushing it I was kind bragging to my wife, she kinda missed one of the last weekends out and I was bragging at how good I’d gotten at landing after we’ve been shot up in the air and you know fell on my butt at Madison Square Garden probably the biggest show of our lives so, it’s funny the Bible says ‘pride comes before the fall.’ So, little lesson learned there to a…you know you can’t get too complacent you gotta continue to work on everything, work on your craft. So, you’ve just gotta shake it off and get back on the horse again baby.”
In today’s high tech society, whatever happens on stage is more than likely on film and then on the internet. Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard says that going viral is usually a good thing:

(:33) (Tyler Hubbard) “The internet social media especially video sites like YouTube are huge for what we do and it could be a good thing or a bad thing you know we have to kinda watch our back at all times and make sure you know we’re pretty aware when cameras are on us. You know stuff happens embarrassing moments, we kinda just go to YouTube and look for ’em for we can laugh about it later that part of the beauty of it. But you know YouTube also has a huge reach to different markets all over the world a lot of countries don’t have country radio so YouTube is how they learn about country acts. We learn that going to Europe for the first time.”
Florida Georgia Line know how fortunate they are to be doing what they do for a living and to top it off the guys get to take their significant others on the road on their “Anything Goes Tour” with them as well. Brian Kelley shares:

(:25) (Brian Kelley) “Yeah, it’s amazing having our girls out with us pretty much every weekend. It’s amazing getting to experience everything we’re getting to experience with them and have them along. They’re very encouraging and they love what we do. It’s awesome to have that energy next to us and it’s awesome to be able to sing to them every night. It’s crazy that we get to take them to Europe and have them on the bus. We can fly here, we can fly there and we don’t take anything for granted we’re very very blessed and yeah, it’s been incredible.”
FGL’s Tyler Hubbard talks about getting to be the headlining act this time around and some of the things they’ve learned from those they toured with in the past:

(:34) (Tyler Hubbard) “This tour for us is different obviously ’cause we’re headliners and this is our first year being a headliner and it kinda gives us the creative rights to do what we want you know. We get to play as long as we want, bring our own production, kinda call the shots and do our thing. So it feels good and it’s just a good vibe a good energy over all you know. We have great guys out with us Frankie Ballard and Thomas Rhett and it’s just a laid back tour everybody’s super friendly, which most the tours we’ve been on even with Luke (Bryan) and Jason (Aldean) they were great tour and super laid back and fun and we’re blessed to have great role models like that to model our tour after.”
For Florida Georgia Line, the stage setup is very important and as Tyler Hubbard shares, so is the crew that sets the stage up and then takes it down every single night on their “Anything Goes Tour”:

A lot comes into designing and thinking about coming up with our stage design, our set and how it’s gonna be laid out and it all starts with an idea and a vision and we have an amazing production manager Ken and our stage manager Donny just really you know they take it to the next level they help us out with ideas. But it’s been fun as artists as well to really put our hand and our thoughts and our mind into staging and how we wanna set it up….the toasters and the different ideas and hopefully get some cool things that nobody’s ever done before and it’s amazing. It’s amazing also to get to see it get torn down every night thrown in semi-trucks and put together the next morning in a different city. We’ve got a lot of hands out here a lot of guys that work really hard late night and early mornings to make it all happen so we’re really grateful for that.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][divider align=”center” type=”solid” title=”TOUR AUDIO (THOMAS RHETT)”][vc_column_text]Thomas Rhett has enjoyed touring with his buddies Florida Georgia Line and the three of them have had a chance to do a lot of songwriting together:

(Thomas Rhett) “They usually have somebody out with them every week and I’ve got someone out with me about once a month. So every time I don’t have somebody on the road writing with me I’m usually on their bus writing with them. And they’re serious, like seriously dedicated songwriters like it’ll be eight thirty in the morning and BK or Tyler will be texting me, ‘Hey let’s go work out and get writing a song’ and I’m like, ‘Dude I’m probably gonna sleep to like eleven today’ and those guys just have a serious dedication to getting up and writing every day. We’ve written a couple of things that we’ve pitched to other artists and it’s a lot of fun writing with your friends.”
Every night when Thomas Rhett sits on the side of the stage to watch FGL perform, the guys give him a shout out when it comes to one particular FGL hit that Rhett wrote:

(Thomas Rhett) “Every night I go out and watch the show and it’s really cool of them to do this but every time they play ‘Round Here’ you know at the end chorus they always tell the crowd that I wrote the song and that just makes you feel so good ’cause they do not have to do that. It’s just really cool to know that me along with those guys we respect songwriters so much that we want the world to know that if it weren’t for these songwriters than we wouldn’t have certain songs that we do have.”
Thomas Rhett says that a highlight of his live show is when he transforms from country singer to funk town singer on stage to perform the Bruno Mars’ song “Uptown Funk”:

(Thomas Rhett) “We’ve been doing ‘Uptown Funk’ since January and when I get to that song and we start the song off man, I like transform into a different person. I put a fedora on and you know Ray Ban sunglasses and get out there and just channel my inner Michael Jackson if you will. And it is just such a blast to be able to dance and be terrible at dancing and then watch everybody else be terrible at dancing in the arena too I mean, you can see people in the noise bleeds going crazy.”
Thomas Rhett’s version of “Uptown Funk” has made waves and he hopes that someday he and Bruno Mars can collaborate together:

(Thomas Rhett) “Our management has connected I think that in the next six months to a year me and him will somehow get together and write a song or somehow formulate a way you know to do a little collaboration, maybe a ‘Crossroads’ or perform together on an award show. Yeah, that’s kinda my dream.”
Thomas Rhett admits that when it comes to the backstage FGL All Access laminate, he tends to lose them and the duo has given Rhett a solution to his problem:

(Thomas Rhett) “They give me a laminate every year and I lose about ten of ’em. So, they stopped giving me laminates and FGL has taken a picture of me and Frankie Ballard and they have pictures of me and Frankie all over the hall ways backstage so every time we walk past a security guard they say, ‘Sir you don’t have your pass’ and I’m like, ‘There’s my picture right there.'”
This isn’t the first tour that Thomas Rhett has been on with Florida Georgia Line and there’s a reason according to Thomas, the guys are great to their people:

(Thomas Rhett) “They’re so hospitable they treat everyone the same. It doesn’t matter if you’re a stage hand or an opening act, you get treated the same. And I think that’s what I love about those guys are just so good to their band and good to their crew and they’re great examples of to how I would wanna structure a tour one day if we get to headline like that.”
Aside from the FGL tour, Thomas Rhett along with the duo will be playing on some of Luke Bryan’s Stadium dates. Rhett talks about playing to the biggest crowds possible:

(Thomas Rhett) “So this will be my first time going and playing collegiate football stadiums and you know NFL stadiums and so it’s pretty overwhelming you know you get out there and there’s so many people to the point that you just, you’re kinda putting on a show for yourself because you can’t see anyone. You know and I’ll be going on at daylight too so people will still be probably sunburnt for the day and probably been drinking all day.
