Hank Williams, Jr.’s latest album, It’s About Time, features a duet with Eric Church called “Are You Ready for the Country.” When Hank was recording the album and trying to decide who to have sing with him he was thrilled when someone mentioned Eric’s name. “When they said, ‘You ain’t gonna believe all these guys that want to sing on this.’ And I said, ‘Eric? Somebody I actually know and like, and have for like six or seven years?”
Not only does Hank like Eric and respect his music, but they’ve also become friends who share common interests. Hank reveals, “We go out with metal detectors. Took him on his first good Civil War artifact hunting trip on a farm in Tennessee.”
So getting Eric to sing on his album, Hank says, “It’s just win, win for all of us.”
In addition to “Are You Ready for the Country,” you’ll also find Hank’s latest single, “The Party’s On,” on his It’s About Time album.
