(AUDIO) MARTINA McBRIDE’S ‘JUST AROUND THE CORNER’ OFFERS HOPE AND INSPIRATION

Martina McBride’s latest single is called “Just Around the Corner,” and she says what drew her to the song was the positive message it delivered.  “It kind of has a universal message, I think, because I feel like all of us are going through something at some point,” says Martina.  “We’re always growing or struggling or trying to figure something out or how do we move forward?  How do we deal with maybe some bad things that we’ve been dealt or dark things?  How do we make this, what is our journey?  You know, all of that stuff.  And as I get older, I think about that a lot more.  And so this song just says, you know, basically, even if your faith is tested or you’re carrying a weight, just around the corner it’s gonna be okay, it’s gonna be better.”

At a time when the world can sometimes seem a little crazy and hopeless, Martina feels like the message of “Just Around the Corner” is more vital than ever.  She says, “We all need to know—just hang in there, it’s gonna be better.  And I think even, there’s so many things that that song can apply to whether it’s bullying or, you know, people dealing with cancer, or whatever it might be.  Just trying to figure out how to move through each day sometimes.”

“Just Around the Corner” has been adopted as the anthem for Band Against Cancer, a movement to connect people fighting cancer with the resources and support they need close to home.
