NASHVILLE, TENN. (August 26, 2024) — A strong-minded and self-reliant artist who’s entirely fearless when it comes to speaking his truth, DIAMOND-selling superstar Brian Kelley celebrates his birthday today (8/26) by releasing the first song from his forthcoming sophomore album titled “Put Myself On.” Listen here.
“This is the first song off my album coming this fall. This album is extra special,” shared Kelley on Instagram. “All brand-new songs written right after the release of Tennessee Truth, all written by just me.”
Like all of his next full-length project – the follow-up to his debut album Tennessee Truth (Big Machine Records) – Kelley penned “Put Myself On” completely on his own, echoing his commitment to absolute authenticity in every aspect of his craft.
With equal parts passion, power, and razor-sharp wit, the boldly outspoken track makes a declaration of his own refusal to play by the rules, expertly dropping in a few sly references to heroes like Hank Williams Jr. Produced by Katlin Owen and Caleb Gilbreath, and recorded live with Kelley’s touring band, with its gritty beats and blazing guitar riffs, “Put Myself On” ultimately builds to a brooding intensity in its final moment, when he delivers a lyric encapsulating his overall mission with his music: “I’ll do it my way / I’ll do it with a song / I’ll look back and say I put myself on.” The result is a fired-up statement to spark Kelley’s most formidable chapter yet.
As “Acres” (off Tennessee Truth) takes root at Country radio after being most-added in the Top 3 during launch, he’s playing this current single and more during the fall run of his SURF POST SESSIONS. Hot off a SOLD-OUT set this summer, Kelley’s headline shows are again hosted in the backyard of the Tribe Kelley Surf Post in Grayton Beach, FL. The Tribe Kelley Surf Post is run by Kelley and his wife Brittney, and is fully stocked with Tribe Kelley brand items. Fans can find the list of September dates and purchase tickets to his SURF POST SESSIONS here.
Next up, Kelley is kicking off the fourth annual Big Machine Music City Grand Prix, as part of the INDYCAR CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND, by headlining the Big Machine’s Cavalcade Of Stars slot (7 p.m. CT) during the FREE multi-artist FREEDOM FRIDAY concert on Broadway in downtown Nashville on September 13. The FREEDOM FRIDAY event honors members of the Military, Police, Fire, First Responders, and Frontline Heroes. The following day, he’s also tapped to play on the iHeartCountry FanZone Stage. Tickets can be purchased online at MusicCityGP.com or by calling 866.RACE.TIX. Check out his website for additional information on Kelley’s upcoming shows.
